Carnival launch for Skipton children's centre

SKIPTON children's centre, one of North Yorkshire County Council's flagship services, will celebrate its first year with an official opening and a carnival on Saturday. Cynthia Welbourn, the county council's Director of Children and Young People's service and other senior officers will launch the event for families and residents in the town.

IN ONE of the most damning reports ever issued on a Government body, the Rural Payments Agency was slammed yesterday as being inefficient in operation, offering its customers – the farmers – a poor service, and lacking in leadership at both the agency and higher up the command structure at Defra.
 

New bridge over the River Ribble

WALKERS, horse riders and mountain bikers on the Pennine Bridleway National Trail will soon be able to stay dry when they cross the River Ribble – thanks to a joint project by the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority (YDNPA) and Natural England.
