More cases in Airedale

A further 3 cases of foot and mouth have been announced - including another outbreak in Rathmell where 670 sheep have already been slaughtered. The other 2 were found at Heights Farm, Silsden and Newslands Farm, Low Bradley.

These recent outbreaks in Airedale have reinforced the decision by the Cononley Gala Committee to abandon this years event for the first time in 35 years. The gala was due to take place on September 15 after already being postponed.

The total number of cases in Yorkshire now stands at 116.
