Five more Cumbria cases; generous start to Dales Recovery Fund

ALTHOUGH the rest of the UK remained clear of new cases of foot and mouth overnight, the disease is still raging in Cumbria. Five more cases were confirmed yesterday in the Penrith-Eden Valley area.

In Craven, there was some good news with the announcement of a successful start to the Dales Recovery Fund, which is hoping to raise £1 million for small business, voluntary groups and individuals hit by the crisis but are not covered by grants from Government and other sources. See News
