THERE were no new cases of FMD reported in the UK today for the third day running. There was also a sigh of relief from farmers in Ribblesdale when a suspected case reported at Horton more than a week ago was finally confirmed as negative.

Further north, farmers in the Lune Valley were also feeling growing confidence as no further cases were reported after last week's single outbreak near Kirkby Lonsdale has - so far - not led to further cases.
