Plate i. High Street, Gargrave ca. 1903.

High Street, Gargrave 1903.
The combined lamp, fountain and drinking bowls were erected to commemorate the coronation in 1902. Known to all villagers as the Gawmless, the structure was demolished by a colliding vehicle. The old buildings behind were rebuilt in 1909. The Grouse Hotel and barn are on the front left.
