At one end of this linear village stands the unassuming little chapel, originally two cottages in one which, in 1548, Sir William
Craven was born. Like Dick Whittington, he rose through commerce and industry to be Lord Mayor of London and later became
a benefactor to his native dale. The furnishings display the 'mouse' motif of Thomson of Kilburn.
