The battlemented Norman tower with its sundial is half-hidden by trees and close to a quiet stretch of the
Leeds-Liverpool canal. In the charming, mainly 19th century interior is a rough-hewn
Norman font and a marvellous fragment of Saxon carving, showing intertwining men and beasts. The church has historic
connections with both Kirkstall and Bolton Priory and the fine hatchments and memorials relate to three notable families.
