The spacious town church (1838) contains impressive 19th century fittings
of marble and alabaster and modern ceramic Stations of the Cross. The attractive Victorian windows include one
unusually dedicated to St. Elizabeth of Hungary. Settle-Carlisle Railway victims are commemorated in the porch.
