Standing proudly but precariously on glacial drift above the River Doe, the church has
frequently been rebuilt, but retains its Norman tower and a superb Norman font, thrown
out in Commonwealth days and used for mixing mortar, but later restored to its rightful
use with its remarkable narrative carvings intact.
