YOUNG people in Bedale are getting the chance to have a say on plans for a new dedicated youth facility in the Yorkshire Dales town.
Bedale High School students are being invited to a consultation day which aims to involve them in shaping the project.
Both Bedale's Community Plan, published in 2004, and a workshop for young people two years later identified the need for further youth provision in the town.
February this year saw the Bedale and Villages Community Plan Forum - which brings together key local organisations - hold a public meeting to assess feelings on the issue.
The consultation day is the latest phase of the work to gauge public feelings - and determine how such a youth facility can be made a reality.
Next Wednesday (June 6) students will be able to log their comments at the start and end of the school day, at break times and at the current youth centre during the evening. They will be asked where the facility should be located, what the venue should offer and how often they would use it.
