The 2010 Yorkshire Rural Awards, organised by the Dalesman, are now in their fourth year. Instigated to recognise the enterprise and hard work of individuals, groups and businesses in Yorkshire, the Awards culminate in a special presentation night at the Harrogate Pavilions on May 13.
Countryside commentator and proud Yorkshireman John Craven will host the ceremony and reveal the winners of the two major awards; the Yorkshireman/woman of the Year Award sponsored by Skipton Building Society, and the Lifetime Achievement Award sponsored by Dalesman.
Chairman of the judges, Robert Flanagan, who is managing director of Country Publications, says “This year’s awards attracted more nominations than ever before and as usual the quality of entries was of the highest calibre. The judges had some extremely difficult choices to make and it goes to prove that there are a lot of people working very hard to keep our rural economy thriving.”
