Dales council women set to Race For Life
A GROUP of energetic career women from the Yorkshire Dales are putting their best foot forward and training for a major fundraising event this summer.
The "Women @ Work" team all work for Richmondshire District Council and have got together to run and raise money for charity. They are training twice a week during their lunch hour in preparation for the Race For Life event on Sunday 10 June in South Park, Darlington.
"Our Women @ Work group exists to support and encourage all our female staff," explains Executive Director, Liz Smith.
"Whether that's in career development, or running 5km, it doesn't really matter. Some of us have run before, for others it's completely new, but doing it together gives us all a sense of purpose and keeps us motivated."
The team hope their efforts will raise £500 for Cancer Research UK.
