New venture for Copper Dragon

A YORKSHIRE DALES brewery is set to take its ales directly to the punter as it joins a new venture to refurbish a well established Skipton pub.
The town's newest alehouse and eaterie is due to open soon - formerly Henri's, the newly refurbished pub on Keighley Road will be re-named 'Weaving Shed' and is a joint venture between Copper Dragon Brewery and The Rendezvous Hotel.
Copper Dragon Brewery was born in 2002 after a two-year study of the UK's brewing industry, which concluded that the giant breweries dominated the market with their standard range of products with a total disregard for local production and flavours, and even worse, employment.
The decision was made to resurrect Skipton's brewing industry which had declined over 100 years ago and the new company set out to re-create flavours from yesteryear using the choicest of ingredients together with a company ethos of integrity.
Since then Copper Dragon has became a successful regional brewery, winning several awards and supplying outlets throughout England and Europe.
Steve Taylor who heads the company explains, "Karen and Malcolm Weaving of the Rendezvous Hotel are seasoned veterans of the hospitality business, so they are ideal partners for us to team up with for this new venture on the doorstep of the brewery and their hotel."
The Weaving Shed will be serving Copper Dragon's range of real ales to satisfy the tastes of the discerning drinker and a number of lagers alongside a menu featuring traditional English fayre and local farm produce.
