Northallerton becomes the venue for a cinema again next month.
Two films will play at the Hambleton Forum on Friday February 6 - as part of the ‘First Friday’ cinema programme.
First up at 5.30pm is ‘The Fox and the Child (U) – the story of a 10 year old girl who wins the confidence of a local wild fox. As their ‘friendship’ grows over the course of a year, she tries to domesticate the wild animal leading to an unfortunate result. The story is told by Kate Winslet.
At 7.30pm it’s ‘The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas’ (12A) – the story is seen through the eyes of a boy whose father is promoted to Nazi commandant of a concentration camp. He is forbidden to go to the back of his new house – but when he does sees people dressed in striped pyjamas, living in what he thinks is a farm.
The First Friday Cinema programme – run in partnership with Northallerton Rotary Club – sees two recent films shown on the first Friday of every month at the Hambleton Forum.
Tickets for each showing cost £3 and can be purchased on the door.
