Vic Smith's pictuure of Swaledale
Swaledale artists Hazel and Vic Smith will be putting samples of their work on show at the Yoredale offices of the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority (YDNPA) in Bainbridge next week.
The couple have lived in and painted the Dales for almost 30 years and have work in private collections all over the world. Hazel has had work exhibited in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.
Vic, who was head of the art department at Richmond School from 1981 to 1997, uses oils or pastels to depict great skies and dramatic sweeping landscapes while Hazel’s watercolours portray, on a smaller scale, a quieter and more intimate view of Dales life.
Their exhibition, which runs through July and August, is the latest to be staged in the reception area of the Authority offices.
Richard Burnett, the YDNPA’s Head of Finance and Resources, said: “The exhibitions always attract a lot of attention from people visiting the offices and they are a great way for local artists to showcase their work.”
For more information telephone Lesley Knevitt at the National Park Authority on 01969 652326. The offices are open from 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday but not on bank holidays.
