The group from Colburn Primary School decided to tackle the issue of road safety as part of Richmondshire District Council's "Your Voice, Your Future" project which has been running in schools and youth groups across the District since February.
Using the Council's "Youth Matters" strategy as a starting point, youngsters were encouraged to think about issues they felt strongly about and create a proposal for a radio broadcast.
The best ideas have been developed into real programmes ranging from interviews and songs to jingles and poems and will be broadcast here on Daelnet and on local and regional radio from next month.
Activities for young people, the issue of low flying aircraft in the Dales and taking a pride in your town are also topics which have been explored by local young people.
You can find out more about this innovative project - and take a look at pictures and read diary entries from some of the children taking part - from the Daelnet 'Your Voice Your Future' feature page.
