Learn to mow a meadow

[Thursday 27 May 2010]

Lessons are being offered in the ancient – but little used – art of scything a hay meadow as part of the revival of traditional crafts in the Yorkshire Dales.

The two-day course if being offered by the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust under the tutelage of scythe expert Simon Fairlie.

It is part of the Flowers of the Dales Festival and will be held on the weekend of July 17/18 at a venue yet to be fixed but most probably in Wensleydale.

The course costs £100. For more information or to book a place contact YDMT on 015242 51002 or email info@ydmt.org
