By the end of the course everyone will have a finished piece to take away with them.
On 22nd of May Edwina Hayes is making a welcome return the Courthouse. Edwina has opened several shows for Van Morrison, and Jools Holland, as well as supporting artists such as Sandi Thom, KT Tunstall and Lulu. Her second album 'Pour Me a Drink' continues to receive praise with her live shows being described as warm-hearted and a true gift of music. She also featured on the soundtrack to the film 'My Sister's Keeper'.
Another workshop will be running on 29th May on embroidery. The workshop will focus on rotary cutting and is on the theme of delectable mountains.
At the end of the month we will be opening another exhibition. The exhibition celebrates the point in the year when the day consumes the night; when the air is filled with the heady scent of flowers, the maddening buzz of insects and the world burns at its brightest. Work by leading artists and makers, celebrates the stories and energy of this intense time of the year.
Exhibiting Artists include: Sally Greaves-Lord - dyes and pigments, Ramon Jephcott – ceramics, Marlene Mckibbin – jewellery, and Maria Pavledis – etchings. The exhibition starts on the 29th of May and will run throughout June.
We will also be running workshops every Monday (10am – 12noon) throughout May on ‘How to use the internet’. These free and friendly sessions are to help anyone who has never used the internet or would like to gain more confidence.
