Tickets for this year’s County Record Office’s History Day are now on sale. The County Council’s annual event will be held at the Hambleton Forum in Northallerton on Saturday 26th March and tickets are only £1.
The star of BBC TV’s Edwardian Farm, Ruth Goodman, will be this year’s special guest and she will be giving a special talk as part of the day.
The History Day will see groups and societies from all parts of North Yorkshire mounting displays of their work. Experts representing a wide range of community and voluntary activities in local and family history across the county will be on hand to offer help and advice aimed at everyone with an interest in North Yorkshire’s history.
At 1pm, Ruth Goodman will give a talk entitled ‘The Cycle of Life’, looking at the key events in ordinary people’s lives in the past. Tickets are £5.00 if booked in advance, £7.00 on the day.
