Visitors to the World of James Herriot could be in for some shocks this week!
For the Thirsk based visitor attraction is holding three special Halloween craft workshops.
Between 1 – 3pm on October 26, 29 and 30 families can pop in to the centre to prepare for Halloween by creating their own scary masks, design a decoration to hang in their homes or just create their own scary drawing.
Visitors will also be able to check out the latest exhibition ‘Yummy Yorkshire’ as they tour the museum. Normal admission prices apply for the three days.
There are also two special half term events on October 27 and 28:
- Tuesday October 27: 1 – 3 pm: the return of ‘The Big Draw’ event, when children will enjoy a guided tour of the 1940s house where James Herriot lived and have the opportunity to draw what they discover. Booking essential - £4 per child
- Wednesday 28 October: 1 – 3pm: ‘Picturing the Past’. As part of this year’s Family Learning Festival, the centre invites children and their families to take part in this interactive event. What was it like to be a child when your parents or grandparents were children? How was it different from today? Parents, grandparents and children will find out when they explore the museum and then work together to produce a work of art to take home with them! Booking essential, free of charge.
