A NEW cross country trail stretching across northern England has being given a massive boost in a public vote.

Trans Pennine Trail voted an 'amazing space'
As Daelnet reported on Friday (see news), the Trans Pennine Trail is a new route for walkers, cyclist and horse riders that runs East to West across the country.
The trail, known as the TPT, was shortlisted in the amazing space category of the National Lottery awards. The award specifically celebrates creative projects from iconic new buildings to bridges, open spaces, parks, squares and city centre regeneration schemes.
The Trans Pennine Trail came up trumps at the awards ceremony on Saturday (23 September) and Trail Officer Les Ford received the Award from Linda Barker at a special BBC 1 programme 'Everyone's a Winner', to celebrate National Lottery Day.
Accepting the Amazing Space Award on behalf of The Trans Pennine Trail, Les said: "We are absolutely delighted to receive this National Lottery Award in recognition of the Trans Pennine Trail being an Amazing Space.
Thanks to Lottery funding we have a fantastic recreational route which generations to come will use and enjoy
