Uncertain future for Skipton card-maker

[Tuesday 25 April 2006]

FEARS are growing for the future of a North Yorkshire greetings card company.

Skipton based Kingsley Cards has gone in to administration despite receiving a £13.5 million boost from a private equity company last year.

Over 200 jobs now hang in the balance at the company's Belle Vue Mills factory site after administrators KPMG were appointed to oversee the company's affairs.

Founded in the 1980's, Kingsley Cards makes a number of brands including Rock & Rosie, Words of Love, and Touch of Class.

It is understood that a management buy-out may be one possibility currently on the table.
