A NEW crime fighting vehicle has taken to the road in communities across the Northern Yorkshire Dales.
The Hambleton Community Safety Partnership has replaced the lease car it has been providing for North Yorkshire Police for the last 12 months.
Community safety car takes to the streets
The new vehicle means community safety staff and neighbourhood policing teams always have transport at their disposal to get out and about around the largely rural district quickly and more often.
It has been used for officers to visit homes and pubs to look into reported incidents and also gives the partnership an important visible presence in the community, as well as at events, roadshows and initiative launches.
The car is funded with a grant from the Home Office Building Safer Communities Fund.
Chairman of the Partnership, Rosemary Taylor, is pictured handing over the keys of the newly liveried car to Chief Inspector Ken McIntosh.
