Anna Brady, overall competition winner
YOUNG people in Richmondshire have put their creative hats on again to help the Fire and Rescue Service understand what makes them feel unsafe.
Richmond Fire Station launched the 'Fire Art Competition' in September for school children across the Yorkshire Dales District, aged 4 to 10 years old, to share their community safety messages.
The competition, which received more than 50 entries, is in its second successive year. Prizes and presentations were made on Friday 19 October at Richmond Fire Station.
"It is nice to see children are learning from the messages they receive at school about safety, producing these fantastic pieces of art", Said Trevor Lund, Vice Chairman of the Richmondshire Community Safety Partnership and Group Manager for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.
"The winning pictures have been framed and are on the walls of our fire station for all our visitors to see. Well done to all the schools and in particular the children who took part."
The overall winner was Anna Brady, from Richmond Church of England School. All winners and runners up received framed certificates and jigsaws made from their pictures. Richmond Church of England School also received a prize for being the school with most successful entries.
