A NEW art exhibition is being staged in the Bainbridge offices of the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority.
Work by Angela Keeble and Roger Lofts – who both live in Wensleydale – is on display in the reception area of the Authority’s Yoredale office until the end of August.
Angela’s abstract oil compositions evolve from ideas and recollections which, whilst providing a starting point, do not involve a pre-conceived vision of the end result.
Having lived in Gibraltar and on the Devon and Hampshire coasts, her paintings are frequently informed by her long association with docklands and the maritime landscape. Letting the painting lead the way, its creation becomes a journey of discovery whereby the finished work is its own entity, open to varied interpretations depending upon the experiences of the individual viewer.
In his watercolour paintings, Roger likes to reflect the atmosphere and spirit of the subject through the interaction and transparency which occurs within the medium. Paintings are based strongly on shape, form and the making of marks on the paper, an approach which leads to a feeling for a subject rather than a true representation.
Richard Burnett, the YDNPA’s Head of Finance and Resources, said: “This latest exhibition is yet another example of how the beautiful landscapes of the National Park bring out the best in people.”
- The offices are open from 8.30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
