AS the demand for organic food mounts, and producers in the North of England struggle to keep up with the demand, a new publication has been launched to advise consumers where to find the right products and growers where to find new markets.
Organic North, a free quarterly brochure available on the Web, is being launched by three regional associations of the Soil Association, including the Yorkshire branch which is run from an office at Skipton Auction Mart.

It contains news of where to buy organic food, organic events in the northern region, articles about favourite local organic producers, recipes using seasonal organic ingredients and information about recycling.
"We want to raise awareness about the fantastic organic food which is produced from the region. The creation of our regional directory of 'Where to Buy Organic Food' and the production of 'Organic North', enables us to reach out and promote organic food and farming across Yorkshire," said Helen Black, Northern Organic Manager.
