Racing to a Mid-Life Crisis at garden racecourse
YORKSHIRE’S garden racecourse is set to pull out all the stops and offer live music at their key race meetings this season following the success of last year’s first Rock at the Races event.
On Wednesday 4th June, Yorkshire band, Mid-Life Crisis will be centre-stage for Rock at the Races at Ripon Racecourse when racing finishes with a lively mix of classic rock, punk favourites, Zappa, Clash, u2 and Hendrix numbers guaranteed to round off the evening’s excitement with a buzz. The free concert is included in the ticket price for the evening’s racing.
The band, which was originally formed to provide the support slot for the Saw Doctors at Grassington Festival in 2006, has developed an amazing following of its own. Not many popular bands can boast a vicar and two financial services experts in their line-up and Mid-Life Crisis is clearly an inspired name for this enthusiastic bunch of seriously talented musicians who don’t take themselves too seriously but always delight their audiences with great music played for fun.
Gates open at the course at 4.50pm, with time to get something to eat before racing begins at 6.50pm, followed by the Mid-Life Crisis concert just after 9pm.
Later in June, Madness tribute band ‘Badness’ will follow racing at the Ladies Day fixture on 19th June.
To book tickets for the racing and free concerts, visit www.ripon-races.co.uk or call the racecourse office on 01765 602156.
