The Allertonshire School pupils are taking part in a month long event organised by the Hambleton Community Safety Partnership.
The 11 and 12 year olds are taking part in lessons on anti social behaviour, drugs and alcohol, intimidating the elderly, arson and hoax calls, road safety and domestic violence.
Members of the police and fire service are being joined by community safety officers and the over 50s forum to talk the youngsters through each of the topics.
It is hoped that at the end of the course they will have a better understanding of crime issues and the consequences of crime for both the victim and the offender.
Some of the youngsters are pictured trying out the partnerships 'beer goggles' used to simulate the consequences of drink driving.
