Richmondshire to celebrate play day

[Tuesday 21 July 2009]

COMMUNITIES across the Richmondshire district of the Yorkshire Dales will unite in a day long festival next month – on National Play Day.

The Richmondshire Parks Festival will offer a host of free activities for children and their families – from live music and motorcycle displays to football competitions, face painting and cake decorating. And there are food stalls and a barbecue.

The festival - to celebrate play and community spaces – brings together a host of agencies giving them a chance to engage with local people and visitors to raise awareness of their work.

Organised by the Colburn Community Partnership it has been made possible thanks to funding from North Yorkshire County Council and Richmondshire Local Strategic Partnership’s Community Fund.

The event takes place at Colburn Community Health and Recreation Centre on August 5 from 12 noon until 5pm.

For more information contact Iain Garth on 01748 835660.
