CYCLISTS of all ages and fitness levels will be biking around Wycoller Country Park in West Craven on Sunday 1st June as part of the Pendle Bike Festival.

It's the first of six Freedom Guided Cycle Rides around Pendle between June and September.

The ride of around 13 miles will leave Pendle Heritage Centre at 10am. An experienced guide will lead the route and take cyclists back to the start point.

Tricia Wilson, Project Co-ordinator, said: "Don't worry if you've been away from a bike for a while.

"The rides have been designed for cyclists of all abilities, and are particularly suitable for families. They follow mainly quiet, traffic free routes - with a free ice cream at the end for the children!

"Fancy it? There's no need to book - just turn up at Pendle Heritage Centre by 10am and off you'll pedal."

There are six different cycle rides around Barrowford, Colne and Barnoldswick ranging from 13 to 22 miles as part of Pendle's Bikefest.

Brian Cookson, Executive Director (Regeneration) and Pendle cycling enthusiast, said: "Cycling is a wonderful way of boosting health and fitness.

"These rides are a great opportunity for everyone to dust off their bikes and use some pedal power.

"The group nature of these rides also makes them good social occasions."
