Visitor attractions in Richmondshire are preparing for an influx of tourists over the coming months and to help them reach as many people as possible with information about where to go and what to see, the District Council has today hosted its annual leaflet and information exchange event.

'Tourism Today' saw representatives from more than 70 attractions and professional bodies gathered at Tennants Auctioneers in Leyburn with supplies of their latest information, ready to distribute to local outlets
"It's a case of getting the people who have the venues to display and distribute all the leaflets, such as pubs, guest houses, village shops, together with the people with events and attractions to publicise," said Richmondshire District Council's Tourist Information Manager, Norman Mahaffy.
"There is a lot of good quality literature about, but our Tourist Information Centres just do not have the space to store bulk supplies of information.
"This is the ideal way for visitor attractions and leaflet distributors to meet up and kick-start publicity for the season."
