FORMER Yorkshire Dales resident Bill Bryson, the best-selling American author who has returned to Britain to campaign on rural issues, will next week launch an inter-active discussion site to get feedback on rural issues from the general public.
Bryson lived in Malhamdale for many years and used many anecdotes about Dales people and places in his hugely successful book, Notes from a small island.
He left Malham when his children were old enough to go to college in America but has since returned to become President of the Campaign to Protect Rural England, which will launch its online forum next Tuesday. The plan is to get ordinary folk involved in country issues.
Details are secret as yet but Daelnet will cover the launch.
