Documentary makers look for Harrogate volunteers

[Friday 20 April 2007]

DOCUMENTARY makers working on a new Channel 4 television series are looking for volunteers from the Harrogate area to take part in the programme.

The series is being produced in the Harrogate area for television production company Wildcard, and they are looking for families who may be interested in taking part.

The programme is set to explore the Islamic faith with a group of Harrogate residents being given the opportunity to try out aspects of the controversial religion - from halal food to Islamic family values. Programme makers say it will illuminate what Islam is really about and what the values and lifestyle of this major world religion and culture actually are.

Producers are particularly keen to speak with parents who are finding their children's behaviour difficult. Islam, they say, offers a range of advice on parenting and on how to instil structure, discipline and a sense of respect in children and hope to bring a new perspective they say could prove to be very useful.

Zoe Thomas of production company Wildcard said: "If you are interested in finding out more about our series we'd love to have chat with you. This is a great opportunity to find out more about another culture and could help you develop better relationships with your children."

For more information contact Zoe on 01423 813596.
