PUBLIC loos owned by the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority (YDNPA) are being given a facelift to provide a better service for visitors.
The toilets at the Malham and Grassington National Park Centres and at the Linton Falls car park have been transformed as part of a package of improvement work worth about £55,000.
Paul Drake, the YDNPA’s Project and Estates Officer, said the facelifts were either finished or were on schedule for completion in the next few weeks.
“There has been a lot more work involved in some of the toilets than in others but it will all be worth it,” he said.
“They were all due for an overhaul as none of them had been refurbished for at least 10 years.
“Obviously they are an important facility for visitors and we want them to be at their best.
“The loos at our car park in Buckden will be getting a partial upgrade this year and we are currently looking at a separate improvement scheme for the toilets at the Aysgarth Falls National Park Centre, which we also hope to start later in the year.”
