MUMS and toddlers are being invited to the cinema later this week as a Yorkshire Dales arts venue continues its popular 'Films for Tots' programme with a movie classic enjoyed by youngsters since its release in 1967.
Thirsk tots will have the chance to watch 'The Jungle Book' which will be screened this coming Friday (20 October) at the town's Old Courthouse venue. Organisers from Rural Arts say it's a great chance for children to see a film on a big screen in a relaxed setting in the company of other tots, and without the need to stay silent all the way through.
...everyone is welcome and it's only £1 to get in for tots, and carers and babies will be admitted free

Organised by Rural Arts and the local branch of the National Childbirth Trust (NCT), the film programme is funded through a £6 000 grant from the Local Network Fund - managed by the York and North Yorkshire Community Foundation.
Jane Redfern, marketing manager for Rural Arts says: "This is the second film in the programme - everyone is welcome and it's only £1 to get in for tots, and carers and babies will be admitted free.
"The film is screened in a relaxed courtroom setting and people are encouraged to bring a cushion for tots so they can all sit together.
"The venue has full disabled access and nappy changing facilities will be available"
The Jungle Book is 78 minutes long and with doors opening at 1pm ready for a 1.15pm start, parents will have time to collect older children from school afterwards.
Other film dates in the programme are:
Toy Story - Friday 17 November
Cinderella - Friday 15 December
The Little Mermaid - Friday 19 Jan
Tigger Movie - Friday 16 Feb
