The aim of the workshop is to help people increase their knowledge and appreciation of mining landscapes and, particularly, the lead mining remains in the Kettlewell
area

Visits to old lead mines in the Kettlewell area as well as hands-on surveys will be just some of the activities in the two-day workshop funded by the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority, the Trust Lords of Kettlewell and the Local Heritage Initiative.
Robert White, the YDNPA’s Senior Conservation Archaeologist, said: “We still have a few places left for people interested in learning more about the lead mining industry and its impact on the landscape.
“The aim of the workshop is to help people increase their knowledge and appreciation of mining landscapes and, particularly, the lead mining remains in the Kettlewell area – which were quite significant – and the village’s history.”
