MOTORISTS buying weekly car park permits in the Yorkshire Dales National Park can now use them on visits to Richmondshire.
Richmondshire District Council and the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority (YDNPA) have launched the scheme to give car users the chance to let their £10 tickets go further.
And, if it is successful, the YDNPA may launch similar projects with other local authorities on its doorstep.
Jon Avison, the YDNPA’s Head of Park Management, said: “The aim is to provide a better service for the car-using public from Richmondshire.
“This is a pilot that will run until 31 March next year. We will then review it and, if we think it’s worked well, we will look to expand it with other neighbouring authorities.”
Gary Hudson, Head of Open Spaces at Richmondshire District Council, said: "This new weekly ticket represents great value for money and will benefit residents and visitors alike."
The weekly parking tickets, which are valid at all 22 Richmondshire District Council car parks, can be obtained from National Park centres and from normal Council ticket machines.
