Bird Migration Talk – Thursday 7th October – 7.30pm to 9pm
Mike Brown from the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) gives an insight into the fascinating world of Bird Migration. Refreshments will be included. At: Nidderdale High School Community Education Centre. Cost: £3 per adult, under 16’s free. Booking recommended to guarantee your place.
Aislabie Gardens Tour - Saturday 16th October – 10am to 5pm
Join the Historic Parks & Gardens group on this fascinating tour of Studley Royal & Hackfall Wood and discover the history of the Aislabie family and the connections between the two sites. Meet: Fountains Abbey – exact location given on booking. Cost: £10 per person payable on booking plus £8.50 payable on the day for entry into Studley Royal Water Garden. The price includes tours of the two 'Aislabie' estates, return transport between the two sites, late afternoon refreshments, and some handouts for information. Booking essential.
Advanced Geocaching - Sunday 24th October - 10am to 2pm
Locate a suitable spot to plant a new Nidderdale AONB cache, and guide yourself to other nearby caches. Some prior knowledge of geocaching is essential. Suitable for over 7’s only. Meet: Thruscross Reservoir – exact location given on booking. Cost: £3 per person. Booking essential.
