Youngsters enjoy the cycle ramp and climbing wall
RICHMONDSHIRE'S first ever Parks Festivals have been hailed a success by organisers.
The free events, which were held at Ronaldshay Park in Richmond, and Catterick Garrison's Coronation Park, offered a full day's entertainment to youngsters of all ages and their families, in an effort to encourage residents into their local park.
"This was a partnership initiative between several organisations including North Yorkshire County Council's 4Youth service, Richmondshire Community Safety Partnership and Army Welfare Service," explains Councillor Hamish Newhouse.
"Craft workshops, didgeridoo workshops, face painting, bungee trampolining and the chance to try out a climbing wall, plus a showcase for local bands attracted more than 700 youngsters; a fantastic turnout."
