AN EXHIBITION is underway to help Richmondshire District Council preserve and enhance Leyburn’s special architectural and historical character.
Council officers are drawing up a Conservation Area Appraisal and Management Plan to identify what is important and of special interest about the town, and work out how best this can be protected.
A public exhibition about the draft plan is being held in Leyburn’s Thornborough Hall, outside the Oak Room, from today (MAY 12) until midday on Friday, May 15. If anyone wants to discuss the plan in more detail, Council experts will be available at the exhibition from 10am to midday and 7.30pm to 9pm on Thursday, May 14.
The draft plan is also available online, at www.richmondshire.gov.uk, in the Planning / Development Management / Consultation Documents section. Comments about the plan can be made by letter, email to conservation@richmondshire.gov.uk or in person on Thursday. The closing date for responses is July 17.
