ALTHOUGH the 2012 Olympics are totally London-based - much to the disgust of many people in the regions - they could offer important business opportunities for companies and professionals in Yorkshire.

York and Yorkshire Business Link says that there could be as many as 10,000 new contracts awarded before the games arrive and special efforts are being made to encourage local small businesses to bid for the work.
