YOUNG people will be taking over Richmond Castle next week for a night of live music.
Up to 500 are expected at ‘Castle Calling’ on Tuesday (August 18) which will be headlined by Indie rock band, The Holloways. Supporting them will be Official Secrets Act, The Foxes, My Lost Youth, Knights, and Sons and Lovers.
The event - supported by 4 Youth and Gigs in Richmond - has been planned and arranged by members of Richmondshire District Youth Council in response to calls from young people across the district asking for something to do and somewhere to go.
Tickets, which cost £3, are available at Richmond Tourist Information Centre at Friary Gardens in Richmond.
“We’re expecting about 500 at the event,” said a spokesperson for the Youth Council.
“We’re really excited to have The Holloways headlining, as well as some great local bands, and hope young people from across Richmondshire will come and enjoy the night.”
Castle Calling kicks off at 6pm (doors open at 5.30pm) and will end at 11pm. The event is strictly alcohol free. Car parking is available at Nuns Close car park, off Hurgill Road in Richmond – a two minute walk from the castle.
Ticket enquiries can be made to Richmond TIC on 01748 828742.
