Yorkshire's Garden Racecourse is gearing up for the new horse racing season and is promising race-goers a better experience than ever.
The new flat season at Ripon begins next week (Thursday 20th April) with an afternoon of racing excitement featuring the Ripon 'Cock of the North' Handicap.
During the winter months refurbishment work has been going on at the racecourse to improve the hospitality areas, including substantial changes to the Champagne & Seafood Bar.
In what is being called an indication of the Directors' commitment to continuing to improve the facilities of their racecourse, the popular venue, with open air seating, now has an increased bar area and a new menu.
In the light of the recent House of Commons decision with respect to 'No Smoking' in public places, it has been decided to introduce this policy into the Annual Members Bar and the Members Dining Room ahead of the formal introduction of the legislation.
Not only the human visitors will benefit from changes this year, however; the stables have also been improved for the horses for the 2006 season.
The calendar of fourteen fixtures looks to be a promising season with the course continuing to attract the country's top trainers, jockeys and horses.
