Katy, Laura and Chloe
Three Richmondshire teenagers are heading for the finals of a regional talent show.
They will be competing with other acts for the title ‘North Yorkshire Community Idol 2009’ later this month.
Katy Jackson from Richmond, Laura Canavan from Risedale and Chloe Robinson from Wensleydale schools won their way to the finals on September 5 when they took part in the district heats at the Zetland Centre, Richmond.
Supported by the Richmondshire Community Partnership Katy, Laura and Chloe will now head to The Royal Hall in Harrogate on September 26.
Hosted by Knaresborough Safer Neighbourhood Police, in association with Harrogate International Festivals, the final will showcase the talents of 18 youngsters from districts across North Yorkshire.
Richard Nauyokas from the TV series ‘Bad Lads Army’ will take charge of the show which will be judged by Supt Simon Mason (Head of Safer Neighbourhoods Policing), Chris Bell (Stray FM) and Dan Mizen (Active Audio Studios).
Elisha Ainsley, the 2008 winner, will open the event and present the prizes to the winners - a laptop computer, recording studio time, I-pod and vouchers.
Tickets for the show – which starts at 7pm – are £5 from the The Royal Hall box office, or from PC Di Smith and PC Caroline Pugh at Richmond Safer Neighbourhood Team.
