David Baker, Fundraising Manager at the Trust explained: "For several years now we have been running our very successful tree dedication scheme. For our tenth anniversary year we wanted to update it a little and embrace the new online facilities available to all.
"We came up with the idea of the 'Virtual Tree' which is an animated tree which grows stage by stage during the first twelve months of the dedication. In addition receivers of the dedication will have a real tree planted in our donor wood and access to their own special area of the website containing additional resources. These include: up to date photographs of the woodland, a personal certificate, inclusion in our donor register, snippets about the woodland's progress, and more besides."
To dedicate a 'Virtual Tree' with YDMT go to www.virtualtree.org or the Trust's usual website address: www.ydmt.org and follow the 'Plant it' link.
