A REPEAT of last year's highly successful Dales Heritage Fair and seminar will take place in Skipton Town Hall this coming weekend (Sunday September 16).

Jointly promoted by several Dales organisations - the Yorkshire Dales Society, Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust, Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority and Craven District Council - the aim of the day is to develop practical ways for heritage groups and organisations to work together for common benefit.
In the morning, from 9.30 onwards, there will be a seminar with speakers from the Yorkshire Dales heritage Directory, North Craven Heritage Trust, the Museum of Dales Mining and the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust.
The afternoon from 1.30 to 4.30 will be devoted to the Dales Heritage Fair. This will be a public event, free of charge, at which more than 20 Dales organisation will have stalls, displays, and further information available. The afternoon will also offer heritage organisation ample opportunity for networking.
"We see this as a perfect opportunity for anyone who cares about the Yorkshire Dales and its magnificent natural and cultural heritage to find out and perhaps get involved in one of the many organisations - from large official bodies to small voluntary groups - who are involved in its protection and interpretation," commented Colin Speakman Secretary of the Yorkshire Dales Society.
