The final line up for a major music festival in Richmond later this month has been announced
Twenty six bands will take to the stage at the castle Calling festival on August 20.
Around 2,500 young people are expected to listen to 12 hours of live music within the ground of Richmond Castle.
Sunderland based rock band, the Futureheads, are headlining the event - with the four man group supported by a host of local talent.
Darwin Deez, Johnny Foreigner, Little Comets, The Cheek, Detroit Social Club, Young Rebel Set, Tubelord, Minaars, The Kabeedies, Only Animals, Get Educated, Utah Saints, Matt and Warick, Equipment Change, My Lost Youth, The Kavaliers, Rise from the Ashes, Misled Icons, The Shadracks, Cold Pistols, The Weekknights, Infuson, Four Year Winter and The Pinstripes will also play.
Tickets for the festival – the second to be held within the castle walls - are already selling fast.
Castle Calling is the brainchild of the Richmondshire District Youth Council in answer to a call from young people seeking something to occupy their long summer holidays.
Richmondshire Community Safety Partnership will be promoting drinking and speeding initiatives and health officers will be on hand to discuss health issues. And there will be subsidised buses to bring young people into the town centre from the Dales – booking is essential as places are limited.
The event is open for anyone from the age of 12 upwards – and is strictly alcohol free. Gates open at 1pm with the first act on stage at 1.15pm. The Futureheads will close the event from 9.45 – 11pm.
Tickets, priced £7 in advance (£10 on the gate) are available from www.castlecalling.co.uk; www.wegottickets.com; or www.seetickets.com
