FARMERS and land owners dying of strangulation in the bureaucrat-created red tape jungle are being offered crucial first-aid by some of the country's leading experts at a conference to be staged near York later this month.
Three London specialists in subjects like land and property issues, public access, taxation and CAP reform will advise Yorkshire's leading farmers and landowners at a one-day event to be held at Askham Bryan College, York, one June 27 as part of the Country Land and Business advisory road show.
"So complex and challenging are the issues facing land managers today that our London-based experts decided to go on the road and meet as many people as possible," says Dorothy Fairburn, the CLA's Yorkshire director.
"They will receive useful feedback on the problems that exist as a result of CAP reform and taxation changes as well as providing valuable advice."
Rural policy, the future of CAP, public rights of way and inheritance tax strategy are among the topics to be tackled by the CLA's experts. They are Professor Allan Buckwell, Chief Economist; Dr Karen Jones, Chief Legal Adviser; and Adrian Baird, Chief Taxation Adviser.
