Calendar girl artist paints for Players
LYNDA LOGAN, one of the original Calendar Girls has come to the aid of a group of Yorkshire Dales thespians with her artistic talents.
She helped the Stage Manager of Grassington Player's next production to paint a particular scene for an oil painting intrinsic to the plot.
'Laying the Ghost' calls for the painting - an Augustus John, no less - to be of a girl in a cornflower dress in a rose garden.
"Lynda was the obvious choice," explains Mary Wilkinson, "Of all the local artists we are lucky to have in this area, she paints pictures in that particular style and it turns out that Augustus John is actually one of her favourite artists."
Laying the Ghost, a comedy by Simon Williams will be staged in the Octagon Theatre at Grassington on 25th-27th October.
Tickets are available from Helen Midgley on 01756 752579.
