A special event is taking place at Gayle Mill near Hawes on Saturday, 19 February, from 10.30am to 4pm.

“Get Ready for Spring” coincides with National Nest Box Week and is designed to encourage people to put up nest boxes and attract breeding birds into their garden. There will be a variety of nest boxes to buy especially designed for different bird species: eg. tits, robins, wrens, sparrows and swifts.

For young visitors, there is the opportunity to build their own nest box, create a bird mobile or even make their own nest! There will be an RSPB information stand, a variety of wooden garden products on sale and light refreshments available.
